Our History

Elliott’s Towing was founded by a Newmarket resident by the name of Joseph B. Elliott. The business consisted of a small garage and one tow truck located on Eagle St in Newmarket.

Elliott’s Towing has grown to a fleet of 19 trucks, an enclosed car trailer, a light service van, 2 small utility trailers, a bobcat and two ATVs’ for off road assistance and recovery, Elliott’s Towing employees 20 local residents of York Region and is located on approximately 3 acres, on York Regions main artery, Highway 11, eight (8) kilometers north of Newmarket.

Since 2003,Elliott’s Towing provides York Regional Police with the vehicles and facility to conduct annual SOCO Training. We provide vehicles and towing of same to local High Schools for Drug and Alcohol Awareness week and the Safety Village programs, sponsored by York Regional Police. We also provide York Regional Police with our towing services for vehicles to and from the chief of Police Annual Dinner.

Proud/Active Community Member

Elliott’s Towing is also proud to announce that we were awarded the Exceptional Customer Service award, for all of Canada, by CAA South Central Ontario in 2010. As an active member of the community, Elliott’s Towing takes pride being involved through sponsorship and volunteer work. Since 2009,we have sponsored the Old Timers Hockey games in Newmarket between York Regional Police and the NHL old timers as well as sponsoring a hole at the annual York Regional Police Golf Tournament for the Safety Village. We have also sponsored, the Girls, Under l0 soccer Team, Annual Newmarket House League Hockey Tournament for the past thirty years, the OPP Retirees, the Keswick Minor Softball League and the Special Olympics. We also participate or donate our services to the Newmarket, Bradford, East Gwillimbury and Aurora Santa Claus parades.

Our Experience

We employ 16 Tow truck / Flatbed operators,4 dispatchers and 2 office staff. Our drivers successfully complete a thorough two week safety/ training program provided by Elliott’s Towing prior to operating a tow truck independently. Each driver is required to successfully complete A “Annual On the Job Evaluation”. Elliott’s Towing also has an “Owner / Drive along program” to insure safe driving habits as well as a mystery shop program to insure excellent customer service. Each and every driver is required to successfully complete the CAA driver training course that is mandatory every three years which consists of safe, towing, lockout and recovery procedures. 94% of our Tow Operators have completed the Towing and Recovery Course. In total, our sixteen drivers have over 180 years experience in the towing industry. Our dispatchers also are highly qualified with a total of 27 years experience. Each truck is equipped with a tracking system that allows the dispatcher to locate the closest truck and driver to service the call faster for more efficient customer service.

Our Partnerships

Elliott’s Towing has provided towing services to Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) members for fifty three (53) years in the Newmarket and surrounding area. We are currently under contract to York Regional Police I District and York Regional Police 3 District. Elliott’s Towing is also the York Regional Police “Long Term Facility” pound and has been for the past four (a) years. Elliott’s Towing has provided our services to York Regional Police and the York Regional Police Services Board contract for I District since 1994. Recently, Elliott’s Towing, recommended by York Regional Police, has been asked to extend our towing services to South Simcoe Police in all fatalities and major accidents requiring reconstruction inside our facility, all Heavy Duty Towing south of Hwy 89 and as of December l7,2009, was added to the South Simcoe Police Towing rotation for all impounds. Elliott’s Towing provides services to our clientele base of over three hundred including dealerships, local garages and businesses in the area, the Sheriffs Department and various Bailiff Companies. We are also under contract with The Town of Newmarket, The Municipality of York Region” Ontario Hydro and Go Transit.
